Of Caressant Care Nursing Home, St. Thomas, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020, at her residence at the age of 80. Dearly loved mother of Jane Wachowiak (John), Nancy Harms (Harald) and Susan Sawven (Bill). Predeceased by a son David. Loved grandmother of Kristen, Lucas, Daniel, Evelyn and Marie and great-grandmother of Keira, Riley and Aleysha. Dear sister of Betty Bowcott. Predeceased by 2 sisters, Helen Munroe and May Arthur and by 2 brothers, Harold and Herb Chase. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Connie was born in Elgin County on July 12, 1940, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Hilda (Shepherd) Chase. Connie worked as a ward clerk at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital. She enjoyed collecting antiques and also collecting arrowheads and was a true collector in every way. Her true enjoyment was family and friends and attending the coffee drinkers group at Tim Hortons.
A private family service will be held. Cremation, with interment of ashes with her son in Dunboyne Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation. Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas in charge of arrangements.
