Hulda A. Carlson, 90, Boone, and a resident of Coventry Care Center, Boone, died Monday at Coventry Care Center of heart failure. She had been a resident of the home since October of 1996. She was born March 2, 1910, in Baxter, the daughter of Ernest and Ida (Klemme) Goeke. She married Oscar W. Carlson in 1946 in Kansas.
She had lived in Boone County since her marriage and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Boone Biblical Church and enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and growing flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Albert; and two sisters, Alice and Laura. Survivors include one step-son, David Carlson and his wife, Sarah, of Beatrice, Neb.; four step-grandchildren, David Carlson and Rodney Carlson of Colorado, Steven Carlson of Wyoming, and Scott Carlson of Nebraska; and three nephews and one niece.
Funeral services were Thursday at Schroeder-Walter Funeral Home, 503 Story St., Boone, with the Rev. Kevin Johnson officiating. Burial was in Squire-Boone Cemetery southeast of Boone.
