Lamont Alder

     WEISER — Lamont Alder, 74, of Weiser, died Monday, May 1, 1989, in an Ontario (Ore.) hospital.

     Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at the LDS Stake Center, Weiser. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Weiser. Arrangements are under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home, Weiser.

     Mr. Alder was born Feb. 5, 1915, at Cardston, Alberta, Canada, a son of Albert H. and Annie Wilson Alder. He moved to Weiser as a young child. He graduated from Weiser High School. He married Matilda Beck on March 21, 1941, at Murphy, Idaho. The couple made their home in Weiser where they farmed.

     Survivors include his wife, Matilda of Weiser; a daughter, Kathleen Padovano of Brussels, Belgium; a son, John Lamont Alder of Pocatello; three brothers, Sheldon and Arlo, both of Weiser, and DeWane of the Oregon Side near Weiser; two sisters, Zola Schlerf of Nampa and Alta Lesh of Boise; two grandsons; and a granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Arnold.

     The family suggests that memorials may be made in his name to the Cancer Society, c/o Don Lee, Box 630, Weiser 83672.
