Doff Dale Dillon, age 83, of Mount Hope, WV went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 16, 2020. Dale was a 1955 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and a US Army Veteran having served from 1960-1963. Following his duty he worked with Houchins Block Company for 7 years and retired after 23 years with Consolidated Coal Company, Rowland Mine, Dist. 17 Local Union 1330. He enjoyed spending time with the Senior Friends, bowling, watching Nascar, traveling, and taking walks. He and his wife loved to take bus tours throughout the U.S. after their retirement.

He was born on June 8, 1937 in Eccles, WV to the late George Doff Dillon (1912-1969) and Lilly Waive Lucas-Dillon (1911-2001). In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his sister, Ella Jean Dillon-O'Dell (1936-2014) & husband Benjamin Herdman O'Dell (1934-2012); sister-in-law, Shirley Ann Wees-Blackburn (1935-2019); and brother-in-law, Johnny Wees (Deceased).

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy Louise Wees-Dillon (B. 1938) whom he married on January 4, 1964 in Kilsyth, Fayette County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Raleigh County, WV, 1963, Page 321, Application Date: December 16, 1963); daughter, Lori Dillon; granddaughter, Tara Davis & husband Justin Davis; great-granddaughter, Everleigh Davis; brother, Jerry Dillon & wife Debra Dillon; sister-in-law, Ruby Dillon-Palmer & husband Chuck Palmer; and many friends who will miss him dearly.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, July 20, 2020 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Richard Allen officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity. We ask those who wish to attend the services to ensure proper facial coverings are being worn and social distancing is being practiced based on the current CDC guidelines.
