Franklin D. “Frank” Peterman, 83, of Marysville died unexpectedly Sunday at his residence following some months of failing health.

Born July 24, 1936 in West Jefferson to the late Jacob L 'Jake' and Opal Peterman, he was married May 4, 1964 to Georgeanne M. “Anne” Skillman. She also preceded him in death April 29, 1997. He was also preceded in death by two infant brothers and a sister, Betty Bishop.

Frank was retired from the maintenance department of the Union County Court House and, through the years, operated a carpet cleaning business with his son. Never known as a shy person, he was the consummate social butterfly enjoying his coffee drinking friends at McDonalds and talking with anyone he would meet. Active in the agricultural community, he spent time as an active member of the Union County Fair Board and was a timer for the harness racing during fair time.

Frank enjoyed horse racing and he even raised miniature horses at the Peterman Pony Farm. Flipping houses and being a landlord became a special hobby to Frank in later years along with boating and spending time at Indian Lake. He was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served in the Army National Guard from 1957 to 1960.

Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery with his wife Anne.
