Son of Captain Joseph Ogle for whom Ogle County, Illinois was named and Druscilla Biggs Ogle. Fought in the Revolutionary War with his father as a boy on the Virginia frontier, and in Indian Wars. Lived for a time at Fort Henry near Wheeling, (West) Virginia where his father was the commander. Moved to St. Clair County, IL with his family soon after the war and married Jane Garrison there on either April or Sept. 10, 1792.
Began preaching in 1808, and was a Methodist minister the rest of his long life.

Overgrown and very hard to locate on private farmland. Kind owner took me down a lane behind the barns, across a low water run, up the next hill, then left to a cluster of trees on ridge above creek
