Elmer H. Bruckschen, age 71, a resident of rural Newton, passed away on Saturday evening, November 14, 2015 at Holy Family Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.

Elmer was born on March 31, 1944, in Manitowoc, son of the late Harold and Evangeline (Busse) Bruckschen. He was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1962.

On October 28, 1972 he married the former Sharon Strauss at St. Mary Catholic Church in Clarks Mills. Elmer grew up on the family farm, Trackside Stock Farm, and eventually took over the farm from his parents in 1974. He liked his tractors and visiting the neighbors. Elmer was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a member of St. John-St. Peter Lutheran Church in Cleveland. He was also a lifetime member of the Mid-Lake Rustic Iron Club.

Survivors include his wife: Sharon, Newton; one sister and brother-in-law: Doris and John Kleckner, Cleveland; two brothers-in-law: Stephen Strauss, San Jose, CA, Ronald (Ellen) Strauss, Oxard, CA; four sisters-in-law: Kathleen (Richard) Voboril, Mokena, IL, Laura (Gene) Woods, Murfreesboro, TN; Barbara (Ken) Gentile, Colfax, CA; Janis Strauss (and fiancé Marty Melander), Machesney Park, IL; and special friends: Dennis Hartlaub and Edward Dehne Jr., both of Newton. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by one brother-in-law: David Strauss.
