George Sands Dies at 46
George Sands, 46, of Warners, died at his home yesterday afternoon on Warners Rd. after suffering a heart attack. He was the proprietor of the Red & White Store in Warners several years and was widely known as a business man in that community.
He was a native of the Town of Camillus and a graduate of the Warners High School in 1929. A member of the Warners Methodist Church, he had been active in sports in high school, and also had played baseball in the old Post-Standard League. He also was a hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Scranton Sands; a daughter, Miss Kay Sands, two brothers, Warren B. and Albert Sands, both of Camillus RD, two sisters, Mrs. Fritz Schultz of Warners, and Mrs. Ruth Forsythe of West Palm Beach, Fla. and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the B. L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, Camillus, the Rev. Clyde A. Rosekrans, pastor of the Warners Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Warners. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
