1981 obituary. BLUE HILL - Roderick Rogers Elliott, 67, of Parker Point Rd., died Saturday in an Ellsworth hospital. He was born in Boston, a son of Wesley C. & Mary H Rogers Elliott. He attended the University of Maine in Orono and was a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity. He served in the Air Transport Command in Europe and the Middle East during World War II. For many years, Mr. Elliott was an executive pilot. Following his retirement, he was employed as a resident caretaker here during the summers and as a tennis professional at the Holiday Inn, Ellsworth, during the winters. He was a member of the Blue Hill Congregational Church and the Masons. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Black Elliott; two sons, Roderick R. Jr., Houlton, and Stephen W. of Blue Hill; daughters, Mrs. David (Jean) of Surry, Mrs. Daniel (Betsy) of Monmouth and Mrs. Stephen (Laurie) Kelley of Standish; a brother, Richard; a sister, Lois Hershey; and five grandchildren. .... A committal service will held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland.
