Jonathan Barrett, was the second son of John and Sarah [______] Barrett, born about 1658, in Braintree, MA, prior to his parents' move to Chelmsford, MA.

The following information has been extracted primarily from NEHGR, July 1888, Vol 42, p259-260, with updates and corrections from various sources:

JONATHAN BARRETT, married Sarah, daughter of Isaac and Mary [Stearns] Learned. No record of the marriage is found, but in a deed to J Burge in 1686 [her husband joining] she names her parents. She was born in Chelmsford, Oct 28, 1653. There is no record of the birth of Hannah, presumed to be the oldest child of Jonathan and Sarah. Sarah died Jan 11, 1695, and he married 2nd, June 26, 1696, Abigail [Eames] Wesson, widow of Samuel Wesson. Abigail died Oct 19, 1706. Jonathan married 3rd, about 1708, Abigail [Wilson], widow of Joseph Hildreth. She was born in Woburn, Aug 8, 1666, daughter of John Wilson and sister of Lieut. John Wilson Jr of Billerica.

i. Hannah, married May 17, 1699, Jonathan Bowers; had eight children; died Oct 16, 1765, "age 86"
ii. Mary, born Nov 20, 1684; married Feb 7, 1705, John Spalding, son of Deacon Andrew. Seven children.
iii. Jonathan, born Oct 28, 1687; married 1st, Sarah _____ [possibly, Stevens], who died May 23, 1716; two children; and 2nd, Lydia Parkhurst, daughter of Ebenezer and Mary [______] Parkhurst; nine children.
iv. Deliverence, born Feb 24, 1690
v. Experience, born Jan 3, 1695; died July 29, 1695

viii. Benjamin, married Elizabeth Farmer, daughter of Edward and Mary [Richardson] of Billerica; seven children. Benjamin was in the Louisburg expedition in 1745, and died that year.

ix. John, born Dec 13, 709; married May 24, 1738 Martha Heald. John died Mar 18, 1772.
