Nancy Melvina Brimhall Alcorn
1862 - 1907

Nancy was born April 9, 1962, in Harrisburg, Utah Territory, the daughter of John and Annaretta Harris Brimhall. She married William M. Alcorn on September 1, 1878, in Harrisburg, Utah Territory. They had one son, Andrew J. Alcorn. Nancy had previously been a housewife before becoming a patient of Utah State Hospital in October 1888. Nancy Melvina Brimhall Alcorn was 45 years old when she passed from this life December 26, 1907, at Utah State Hospital in Provo, Utah.
Utah State Hospital Forgotten Patients Cemetery Project: Nancy was among 600+ patients of the Utah Territorial Insane Asylum (now known as Utah State Hospital) between 1886 and 1960, buried in the Provo City Cemetery, most in unmarked graves, given a pauper's burial, alone without recognition or ceremony. The Utah State Hospital Forgotten Patients Cemetery Project requested donations to create a monument with individual plaques to honor each of these precious spirits. Thankfully, it was completed and dedicated to them October 10, 2018, in Provo City Cemetery.
