Violet, 93, of Athens, MI. died June 28, 2015 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was the daughter of Samuel A.and Willie T. (Metts) Farrington.

Violet attended Athens United Methodist Church and served as president of the United Methodist Women; she participated in the exercise group at Burnham Brook Athens; and she enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Harold P. Jones in 1991, and her siblings, William B. (Hilda) Farrington, James E. (Margaret) Farrington, Poly M. (Marie) Farrington and Haidee (Almos) Huey.

She is survived by their sons, James (Sandra) Jones of Battle Creek, Thomas Jones of Battle Creek; daughter, Linda (John) Rhodes of Battle Creek; five grandchildren, eight great grand children, four great-great grandchildren; special niece, Betty (Leo) Farrington of Battle Creek; nephew, Richard (Sharon) Farrington of Richland; and special friends, the Banks family.

Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Shaw Funeral Home is where services took place. Interment, Memorial Park Cemetery.
