Ever since I found that our Granpa James Rev Vet Patterson 1758 was born in Augusta co, Virginia, I have been researching the William Patterson/Janet Irvine line whose children are found in Augusta county as early as 1740 knowing that one of their children was James' grandfather. Finally my research of almost 20 years fell into place after reading Nathaniel's will, the missing father of Granpa James.

The above paragraph about Granpa James 1758 is why I am so adamant about his descendants changing their trees. Finding the missing connection, we may be able to find a connection in Pennsylvania, Maryland to the main Patterson/Irvine Irwin line. More about this later.

It's a shame how so many descendants of Granpa James 1758 and Miss Nelson have added incorrect parents just by copying and pasting from other cousins trees that have no documentation. There are at a minimum of 35 trees with incorrect information for Granpa James 1758 and Miss Nelson.
