Madge E. Brewster, 96 of Elbridge, formerly of Weedsport, passed away Wednesday in Auburn Community Hospital one day following her 96th birthday. Born in Schickshinny, PA, Madge lived in Auburn for a short time and for several years in Weedsport before to moving to Elbridge to live with her daughter, Cheryl Becker. Madge was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Weedsport and she was formerly a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed flowers and gardening and she was an avid reader. Madge will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband, John L. Brewster in 2002; and her daughter, Cheryl N. Becker on January 16, 2015. Surviving are two daughters, Joy Stockwell of Auburn and Dawn Maricle of Elbridge; two sons, Leonard H. Brewster of Auburn and Kenneth J. Brewster of Elizabethtown, KY; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Bush Funeral Home, 120 E. Main St. (Rt. 5) Elbridge with a service to follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Arthur George officiating. Spring burial will be in Weedsport Rural Cemetery.
