Typhoid fever is causing sad havoc in the town of Calumet. The most heart renting scene that has yet occurred took place in the family of Wm. Kratsch a well-to-do farmer of that town. His wife, who is in the neighborhood of 60 years, was taken sick with typhoid fever about two weeks ago, and after being confined to the bed for about a week she was up and about the house, and Thursday evening, the night previous to her death, assisted in washing dishes.
She was buried on Sunday.
Hardly was her body entombed with the announcement of the death of her son, William, aged 26 years occurred. He was sick for about two weeks and died on Monday. He was betrothed to Miss Katie Heller, and was to be married on Thanksgiving Day.
His funeral occurred on Wednesday.
