According to the 1895 Phoenix City Directory, Jacob was a proprietor of Bodega Saloon. In 1910 he was working as a bartender for his younger brother Peter. In 1930, Jacob was a dishwasher for a Phoenix cafe. At the time of his death, his occupation was listed as 'janitor'.
