Arthur James "Jim" Ammerman, 69, of 22 Waterford Lane, Auburn,died Tuesday at home. He was the son of the former Elizabeth Droge and the late Arthur Ammerman (February 1, 1906–May 1970).
Born in New York City, he graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy. He retired in 1990 after 25 years as a systems engineer at IBM and previously worked at General Electric Co. He was a member of the Masons in Monroe, Conn., and a past master of Washington F&AM Lodge 19.
Survivors: His wife, the former Rose Rosa; two daughters, Amy Brennan of Wellesley Island and Marybeth Schillace of Auburn; two sons, James of Auburn and David of Aurora; his mother, Elizabeth Freda Ammerman (August 18, 1910–March 24, 2006) of Roswell, Ga.; a sister, Jean Pitts of Roswell; a brother, Kenneth of Roswell; six grandchildren.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday in St. Isaac Jogues Church, Fleming. Burial, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. today at White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St., Auburn.
