He was a veteran in the Army, serving two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. He later was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic for Hibbing Taconite. Jerald's passion was following the races. He faithfully attended various race tracks around the region. He loved spending time with his family, working out in his yard, camping and spending time with his dog, "Nugget."
Jerald is survived by his wife, Hazel Yost; children: Jimmy (Rose) Yost, Jerald (Kelly) Yost, Johnny (Jennie) Yost, Joe (Cindy) Yost , and Jack (Jammie) Yost, Jodie (Jon Inkman) Yost ,and Jill (Dustin) McKay; brother, Alfred (Sherry Gould) Yost; sisters: Katherine (Bill) Renollet, Marilyn King and Penny Dewitt; 22 grandchildren, ex-daughter-in-law, Pamela Yost of Hibbing, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother.
