Mrs. Mary Ann Adams passed away at a Fairbury hospital Sunday, August 31, 1947, at the age of 66 years, 3 months and 12 days.
Mary Ann Meyers was born in Waukon, Iowa, on May 19, 1881. When a young girl, she moved to Jefferson county, and on February 2, 1900, she married Charles Adams in Fairbury and to them were born ten children. After their marriage they spent their life farming in Jefferson county.
Surviving are eight children, Mrs Fred Ray of Independence, Ore., Pearle, John, Frank and Clarence Adams of Fairbury, Roy Adams of Jansen, and Mrs. Henry Beck and Mrs. Alfred Case of Orleans, Nebr.; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Warnke of Fairbury and Mrs. Henry Fredde of Norton, Kansas and Mrs. Emma Hamilton of Wichita, Kansas; four brothers, Henry Meyers of Steele City, Charles Meyers of Alexandria, William Meyers of Beatrice and Arthur Meyers of Brownville, Nebr.; 24 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Her husband and two children preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at Traum's chapel Wednesday morning with Rev. M. Q. Stevenson, pastor of of the Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial in the Fairbury cemetery.
