Find A Grave would not let me post the location as Hampshire County, VIRGINIA. There was no West Virginia before the Civil War.

This is NOT, repeat, NOT the grave of Charles Capper as is commonly believed. I took this particular photo in 2004. The church people told me of reconstructing their cemetery and cemetery records without much knowledge of the old times. Someone remembered hearing of Charles Capper, so he got nominated. The tombstone company which did the work said they were working without records, merely placing stones in straight lines. Here is the proper information:
From: Candace Odell Teal Gravelle

CHARLES CAPPER was born about 1793 in Frederick County, Virginia, and died June 1852 in Lafayette County, Missouri. Charles had gone down river to see some people, odd that a farmer would leave his fields in midsummer. He died of cholera upon his arrival at his destination. The body was not sent home.
He married (1) CATHERINE MCVICKERS August 31, 1813 in Frederick County, Virginia, daughter of DUNCAN MCVICKERS and JANE. She was born Abt. 1787, and died September 09, 1831 in Frederick or Hampshire Co. Virginia. He married
(2) ELIZABETH MCKEEVER 1832 in Virginia, daughter of PAUL MCKEEVER and MARGARET SWEITZER. She was born September 28, 1808 in Hampshire County, Virginia, and died September 17, 1870 in Grant County, Indiana.
Notes for CHARLES CAPPER: Linda Capper Hintz submitted the death information to the LDS files for the date and location of the death of Charles Capper. Notes: Frederick County, Virginia marriage records show: Charles M. Capper married Catherine McVickers on Aug 12, 1813.
