He was born February 21, 1913, in Chicago, Illinois, a son of Edmund Harris and Maude Harris Auffhammer. He married Marjorie Dorothy Goodness July 11, 1947, in Endicott, New York. The marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. He was an independent salesperson and self-employed with a sewing machine and television dealership for 49 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing the harmonica. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has served as a temple worker for two years.He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of Orem; his five sons and daughter, Edmund H. Auffhammer III, Alpine, Utah; Thomas F. Auffhammer, Syracuse, New York; John Hayford, El Cajon, California; Karrl Auffhammer, Orem, Utah; Norman Auffhammer, Baldwinsville, New York; and Judy Pavia, Westland, Michigan; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; one brother, Albert Auffhammer, Elmira, New York; and his aunt, Berdice Markham, Roy, Utah. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Karl Auffhammer.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 24th at 11 a.m. in the Canyonview Stake Center, 575 East 800 North, Orem. Friends may call Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, and Tuesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the stake center prior to the services. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
