SPARTA, Wis. -- Erva T. Vancil , 82, of 814 N. Chester St., Sparta, died Friday, Nov. 3, 1989, in Rolling Hills Nursing Home, Sparta.
She was born Oct. 17, 1907, in Bond, Ill., to Dixon and Cora (Davis) Jackson. She grew up in Litchfield, Ill., and married Benjamin Vancil in January of 1932. They moved to Cataract, Wis., in 1937, and to Sparta a year later. He died Sept. 27, 1962.
She is survived by four sons, Francis and Oral, both of Sparta, Russell of Warrensville, S.C., and James of Vesper, Wis.; a daughter, Mary J. Miles of Bangor; two sisters, Iva Dawson of Williamsburg, Mich., and Zella Mitchell of Litchfield, Ill; a brother, Floyd Jackson of Litchfield, Ill; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Kann Funeral Home, Sparta, with the Rev. Richard G. Maser officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Monday, and from 8 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday.
