Mrs. William Grotegut, 73, former county resident, died Sunday morning
at the home of her son, Orville, in Milwaukee, with whom she has resided
the past six years.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Stoltenberg
funeral chapel at Cleveland, and at 2 o'clock from the SS. John and Peter
Lutheran church in the village, the Rev. M. A. Braun officiating. Burial
will be in the St. Johns Lutheran cemetery at Cleveland.
Mrs. Grotegut, nee Emily Siggelkow, was born at Centerville in 1868 and in
1894 was married to William Grotegut, cattle buyer and operator of a livery
stable at Cleveland. They made their home in the village. Mr. Grotegut died
in 1932. Two years later a son Gardner, of Cleveland, also died.
Six years ago, Mrs. Grotegut moved to Milwaukee to live with her son.
Survivors are the son, Orville, of Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Schwartz
of Sheboygan, Mrs. Emma Franz of Los Angeles, Calif.; and a granddaughter,
(private).
The body may be viewed at the Stoltenberg funeral home. The casket will not
be opened in church.
