Ephriam Cole Sr. was the son of James Cole Jr. and Mary Tilson. Prior to 1690 he married Rebecca Gray, born ca1670, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, died ca1731, the daughter of Edward Gray and Dorothy Lettice. Ephriam and Rebecca had seven children: Ephriam Jr., Samuel, Rebecca, Mary, Dorothy, James, and Samuel (again) Cole. "...Ephriam was elected constable of Plymouth in 1693, on 21 September 1695 he was granted 30 feet of land below Bartlett's warehouse to build a wharf. For seven years he was one of twenty people who subscribed to maintain a school.
