Arthur F. "Mike" Willingham

Arthur F. "Mike" Willingham, 82, of Orem, passed away August 3, 2002 following an extended illness.

He was born April 5, 1920 in Fairplay, Colorado, the son of Pearl May and Arthur F. Willingham. Mike was raised in Fairplay where he met and married Loventria "Lovey" Fowler on June 3, 1941. They moved to Utah in 1942 where he helped in the construction of the Geneva Works of U.S. Steel and was the fourteenth man hired in production. He retired from there after forty years, in 1983. Mike loved outdoor sports, camping, hunting, fishing, etc.

He was a member of the Christ Evangelical Church and in 1965 helped build the church in Orem. He served in various positions but is best remembered for many years of dedicated service involved in the maintenance of the building and grounds.

He was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of Orem and two sons, Donald H. (Elizabeth) Willingham of Orem; C. Michael (Janie) Willingham of Peoa, Utah; eight grandchildren, Shanna (Ernie) Oostveen; Donna (Rod) Mitani; Chris Davis; Linda (Lance) Pope; and Vickey Willingham all from this surrounding area; Robert (Danyelle) Willingham, and Jared Willingham of Elko, Nevada; Julie Willingham of Peoa; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; and a sister-in-law, Anita Fairchild of Orem.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 6th at 11 a.m. at the Christ Evangelical Church, 280 S. 400 East, Orem. Friends may call at the church one hour prior. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery.
